The Kingdom of Afghanistan and the United States: 1828-1973

This book is a study of the of the relationship between the governments of Afghanistan and the United States from 1828 to 1973. It focuses on the impact of the USSR and the Pushtunistan dispute between Afghanistan and Pakistan on this relationship - a game within the "Great Game."

Here are a couple of useful tips in using this search:

• Use multiple words to narrow your search, and
• use quotation marks if you are searching for a phrase.

It puts into context the reason why our families had the privilege of living in Afghanistan. Reading about the individuals who played major roles in this relationship between Afghanistan and the United States was fascinating, specially when recognizing some of the names.

AISK is actually mentioned in the section about Christian L. Jung (1940-1973) in Appendix II. Mr. Jung was a teacher at AISK.
