Welcome to the home of the AISK Scorpions on the Internet!

Recent and current events have generated a lot of interest about Afghanistan and its people. This site has a wealth of photos and recollections from individuals who were fortunate enough to have lived part of their lives (most would say some of the best times of their lives) in Afghanistan. These photos and recollections are available in the Photos and Guest Books & Letters sections of the Multimedia Library.

Here are the best of the photo collections:

More pictures of Afghanistan and its people are buried in the 16 yearbooks (from 1963 to 1977) published in the Yearbooks section of the Multimedia Library. I have compiled a list of links below for your convenience:

POEMS BY SCORPIONS

This poem was written by Scott Stephen Stoner (s3), a second generation Scorpion - Steve & Maggi (Bennett) Stoner's son. It was written and published on our home page on September 13, 2001.

you crushed my eye
just after you crushed my stomach...
you made me fall to the ground,
but you failed to see the look in my eye
or the fortitude in my stomach
and for that mistake
that you made
Allah has forsaken you.

The following poem was written by Joel Motsch. It was originally posted in the Guest Book on September 28, 2001 (PST).

Silence befalls all of us...TRAGEDY BECOMES SILENT....
When it touches each of us personally
When it tears our past friendships from one another
When we feel helpless to render aid
When we hear no familiar voices of comfort
When we run from our nightmares of sorrow and helplessness
When we recall all the things we could have, should have and would have
When we see ourselves in the pain experienced by those we love
Let us eradicate silence and stand together and confront evil and restore peace, wherever, whenever and to whomever we may!

Joel, thanks for the call and have a safe journey home!

Hey Billy - remember the time an Afghan policeman chased us back to your house? In case you've forgotten, it had something to do with cherry bombs.
