ADVOCATES FOR AFGHANISTAN - ALUMNI OF AISK

Anne Michalec Payson (70-72), Marnie Hartung Gustavson (64-68) and Stacie Teele (73-74) recently met in New York City and they have decided to launch "Advocates for Afghanistan - Alumni of AISK" as a way for Scorpions to give something back to Afghanistan.

Supporting Mary MacMakin's project to fund three home-schools for girls, all located behind Babur's Garden, will be AFA's first action.

All Scorpions, Old Hands, and Friends of AISK are invited to join with AFA in helping the peoples who were -and are still- such a part of our lives. If you are looking for a simple yet very meaningful way to make a difference in our world, how about helping to pass the torch of knowledge to the next generation of Afghans?

Through AFA's actions in support of Mary's incredible efforts, you can help change countless lives for the better - and forever. More details about AFA and how really easy it is for Scorpions to act are available here.

PEG PODLICH'S PHOTOS FROM THE 1968 AISK GRADUATION CEREMONY

Peg Podlich '68 submitted more photos from her Dad's (Dr. William F. Podlich, Jr.) collection. These are photos from the 1968 AISK Graduation Ceremony. Memorabilia of AISK tuition bill and receipt are also included.

Peg notes that the AISK tuition was not exactly cheap. I can attest to that since my own Dad had to beg the AISK School Board to grant me and my sister scholarship to attend AISK. And for that, I will always be thankful for the opportunities it opened up for me.

Thanks Peg, Clayton Esterson (Peg's husband) for scanning the photos, and Dr. Podlich for taking the photos!
