When I started using the Internet regularly in the mid-90s,
the Internet was still in its age of "innocence."
Pop-up ads (ads in general), spam, scams and computer viruses were unheard of
and commercial use of the
Internet was frowned upon. Everything on the Internet was free
and it was a much friendlier place.
Individuals (including myself) created Web sites about any and all subjects.
Some did it for money, but most did it for the sheer fun of it.
It was cheap, easy and fun to create Web sites.
How could it remain "free"? Well, we all knew it would not last.
Someone had to pay. Since its inception in 1997, I have personally absorbed
the rising cost of publishing this Web site. Last November, I finally decided
to request assistance.
